With very thankful hearts we are grateful to God Sr. Rubi Arellano, SSV was able to travel successfully to the United States during this unprecedented time of Covid infections and the rise of the Covid 19 Delta variant. It is by God's grace and the protection of Our Mother of the Visitation that her mission here in the United States will continue during the month of September. The Guardians of the Visitation are profoundly grateful to the many diocesan collaborators and priests who have welcomed Sr. Rubi. Sister will once again spread the Charism of the Sisters Servants of the Visitation to God's people in the Diocese of Buffalo, New York through the assistance of Guardians Tom and Paula Radel who will host Sr. Rubi during her visit. The parishes she will visit in upstate New York are St John the Baptist in Buffalo, New York on September 4/5, St. Jude the Apostle in North Tonawanda, New York on September 11/12 and Immaculate Conception/ Holy Spirit Parish in Eden, New York on September 18/19.
A highlight for friends in the Chicago area is Sr. Rubi's time spent with the parish of St. Petronille in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. A Novena to St. Therese of Lisieux which will be led by Sr. Rubi during her time spent in Glen Ellyn Illinois will begin on September 22nd. Fr. Thomas Milota, pastor of St. Petronille Church has invited Sister to lead the nine days of prayer leading to the feast day of this great saint who is the patron of missions and missionaries. Many activities are planned with small parish groups and the school however it is the great grace to just have Sr. Rubi's presence in the parish community as a vital witness to God's love and desire our continued accompaniment with our poor and forgotten brothers and sisters and for the charism of the Sisters Servants of the Visitation to be spread in the United States. Lay and religious missionary men and women exemplify the call of Jesus to care for the least of our brothers and sisters. It is a great blessing to have a missionary religious sister with us and for Fr. Milota grant permission for her to be an active missionary bringing her example of living the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of St. Petronille Parish. Magnificat!
