"Go and Invite"
“Missionaries, in fact – of whom Therese is patroness – are not only those who travel long distances, learn new languages, do good works, and are good at proclamation; no, a missionary is anyone who lives as an instrument of God's love where they are. Missionaries are those who do everything so that, through their witness, their prayer, their intercession, Jesus might pass by.” ~Pope Francis, June 2023

INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF THE GUARDIANS OF THE VISITATION
"GO AND INVITE..."
The Sisters Servants of the Visitation have been invited to the
Diocese of Buffalo to participate in the USCCB Summer Missionary Cooperative Plan!
January 25th Pope Francis released his message for World Mission Day 2024: "GO AND INVITE". Pope Francis generously asks that we casts our eyes on the Gospel parable of the Wedding Banquet to reflect on what the kings command to, “Go therefore to the thoroughfares, and invite to the marriage feast as many as you find” means in our world of today for every baptised Christian.

The Sisters of the Visitation as a Missionary Congregation dedicated to serving the needs of the ultra-poor in forgotten places in our world embrace Pope Francis' messageas they live out their Charism to "go with haste"in the spirit of the Magnificat! The Vatican News Release stated, "The Pope reflected on each of these words in turn. “Mission," he said, "is a tireless going out to all men and women, in order to invite them to encounter God and enter into communion with him", just as Jesus, 'the Good Shepherd and messenger of the Father, went out in search of the lost sheep'. The SSV Sisters are dedicated to bringing the love of Christ to those in need by helping to renew faith and hope in their local communities where they serve at fourteen mission sites around the world.

The Sisters of the Visitation Missionary Congregation charism is animated in service to the poor and marginalized through a wide range of ministries, including providing housing, education, healthcare, and social services. They work tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of those in need and to bring hope and healing to communities living on the margins, affected by generational poverty.
