Super-Typhoon Odette hit Southern Leyte, Philippines on December 18 2021 causing complete and widespread devastation to coastal areas, total loss villages, buildings, churches, of shelter and livelihoods.  The Sisters Servants of the Visitation made a visitation to the area to give aid and assess needs on December 20th and returned for a mission to two affected areas on January 8, 2022 to bring food, water, clothes, sleeping tarps, eating and cooking utensils, and hygiene items.
