Miraculous Advent

Updated: Dec 15, 2020

We rejoice to begin this Advent 2020 with #givingtuesday2020 and the conclusion of our Fall Fundraising letter campaign. Each was a success and together give support to the Ain Karim Children's Home and Mission Aid Bato. We are so thankful to all who helped us reach our goal in assisting the SSV Mission Bato through the pandemic. Also, with the beginning of Advent the Great Baby Blanket Project has taken up residence on our front lawn. Everyone is invited to leave a receiving blanket for a new born child in the manger of the stable on our lawn. Over 100 blankets have been left during the first week of Advent. You can learn the details here: THE GREAT BABY BLANKET PROJECT | Guardians (guardiansofthevisitation.org)

The First Grade Daisy and Third Grade Brownie Troops from St. Petronille School have donated their time in putting together ribbon pins with the Miraculous Medal for each blanket and they have created welcome cards for newborn baby boys and girls in the Philippines. The girls learned about the Miraculous Medal and the needs of moms in poorer areas of the world. This year is the 190th anniversary of Our Lady's appearance to St. Catherine of Laboure which set in motion the striking of the medal through which is credited many graces and miracles to those who wear it with devotion to Our Blessed Mother Mary. We are so thankful for the girls' and troop leaders' time and the gift of their hands in creating 270 pins for the donated blankets. May Our Lady of Grace protect the children and families who will receive the blankets in the coming year.

Advent Week 1: 171 blankets donated!!

Prayer

Virgin most holy, Mother of the Word Incarnate,

Treasurer of graces and Refuge of sinners;

we fly to your motherly affection with lively faith,

and we beg of you the grace to do the will of God.

Into your most holy hands we commit the keeping of our hearts,

asking you for health of soul and body, in the certain hope that you,

our most loving Mother, will hear our prayer.

Therefore with lively faith we say:

“Hail Mary…” (three times)

Advent Week 2: 245 total blankets donated!!
