The month of May brings the celebration of Flores De Mayo, Flowers for Mary, to the all of the Philippines and is greatly anticipated by the SSV Mission, the children of Ain Karim Children's Home, and the children and youth of Cati-an. The novena tradition of a nightly procession to the village Marian shrine followed by Rosary and song draws all the village children and youth. The children bring flowers they have picked to present to Our Blessed Mother each evening. The mothers of the village are to be credited with encouraging their children to faithfully attend the program. "Despite the pandemic, we thank God for giving us an opportunity to conduct Flores de Mayo this year. And it wouldn't be possible without the participation of the OLVYO, together with the SSV Sisters, parents, and the children..." related Sr. Rubi. Mamma Mary must smile to look upon these beautiful children coming to her each evening to honor her. The month long celebration and Novena to our Mother of the Visitation ends Sunday, May 29, with a Mass and great celebration with cake and snacks for the children. May 31st is the Feast Day of the congregation Sisters Servants of the Visitation! “TRAIN UP A CHILD IN THE WAY HE SHOULD GO; EVEN WHEN HE IS OLD HE WILL NOT DEPART FROM IT.” - Proverbs 22:6. MAGNIFICAT!!
