The Great Baby Blanket Project donations Head to the Philippines!

The fruits of the first Great Baby Blanket Project Advent event are being shipped to Mission Aid Bato today! We are so grateful to Fr. Milota, pastor of St. Petronille Church for his "Yes" to the partnership that made this project such a success. As an Advent Parish Project the mission of GBBP coalesces with the message of Advent time and a session of watching, waiting, preparing for the coming of the child Jesus. We are grateful to all our parishioners and neighbors who responded to this opportunity to reach out and aid a poor mother and newborn in a country far away. four hundred and five blankets were gifted to the manger during Advent. Blessed Mother Mary traveled far with very little to wrap her child: this is often the case in developing areas of countries today. The connection over the arc of time is evident and the needs of a poor mother as simple now as they were then: a swaddling blanket for her baby.

We are also thankful for the collaboration of Nicole Janninck who organized the local Girl Scout daisy and Brownie Troupes to share the message of the SSV Sisters and their good works and mission life in the Philippines. There may be a future missioner among them!

Today is shipping day!! We are elated to ship four boxes filled with the fruits of this event and so please for the interest in the project and the opportunity to share the Charism of SSV to bring attentive care to those in need

. Enjoy these pictures of the event #SmileofGod!
